Topics you can talk about in therapy
I am 16-17 years of age
Choose a psychologist that feels right for you using our Get Matched tool or the online psychologists tab. Since you're 16 or 17, you can book and attend sessions on your own, no guardian consent needed.
Your therapy sessions are completely private and focused on what matters to you. If you want to access Medicare rebates for your sessions, you can visit your GP to get a referral and a Mental Health Care Plan. Whether you need support with stress, friendships, mental well-being, or anything else on your mind, our psychologists are here to help.
I am 12-15 years of age
Pick a psychologist that feels right for you using our Get Matched tool or the online psychologists tab. Since you're between 12-15, your parent or guardian will need to give consent before your first session. They’ll get an email to sign the minor consent form, no stress, it’s all automatic and easy to complete!
Because you're under 16, a guardian will also need to join your first session. This helps make sure everything gets off to a smooth start and gives you the best support as you begin therapy.

I have a child under 12
My Mirror can only accept children aged 12 and above for Telehealth services, as it may not be the most suitable therapy method for younger children. For children under 12, we recommend in-person sessions with a psychologist, as they may benefit from play-based therapies and other age-appropriate approaches.
I am the guardian of a teen
Starting therapy is an important decision, and having an open conversation with your teenager about it is essential. If you're considering therapy for your teen, you can speak to your GP for guidance or use our Get Matched tool to find a psychologist who suits their needs.
If your teen is aged 12-15 years, a Minor Consent Form must be completed by the parent or guardian before therapy begins. Additionally, a guardian is required to be present for the first session to ensure a supportive and seamless start to their therapy journey.
