What to expect from an online session with an anxiety psychologist?

Your first session with an anxiety psychologist is primarily about information gathering. Your therapist will likely ask you questions about your work, study, health, living situation, relationships and even a short family history. 

Following this, they will inquire into the anxiety problems you are experiencing and what you hope to gain from therapy. Be as open and honest as possible – psychologists are trained to be non-judgemental, no matter how big or small the issue.  

After this first session, your psychologist will tailor a course of therapy specific to your challenges and circumstances. CBT and other related therapies tend to be short and targeted, instilling new thought patterns and strategies that allow you to better manage your anxiety on your own.
