Hi, I'm Apoorva

Hi, I'm Apoorva, a clinical psychologist passionate about creating change and helping people thrive.

As a person and psychologist, I embody a curious and open-minded approach to life and to people. I'm down-to-earth and strive to make people feel heard, understood, and safe in my presence. Compassion is one of my core guiding principles, and I believe practicing it can help us to learn from the unique experiences and inner wisdom of each person we encounter. Rather than seeing myself an expert - I see myself as a fellow traveler who can offer perspective.

My Approach

I take a tailored and personal approach according to each individual, their needs, and what they are hoping to get out of the therapeutic process. This means I will aim to get to know you person to person, apply my background knowledge and experience flexibly, and draw from various evidence-based therapy modalities (e.g. CBT, ACT, DBT, Schema Therapy, trauma-focused interventions) to help you achieve the outcomes you may be hoping for. Your outcomes may include getting a better understanding of yourself, identifying and learning about possible diagnoses, changing unhelpful patterns, overcoming trauma, dealing with difficult behaviours or thoughts, building stronger relationships, learning how to better manage emotions, finding meaning and value in life, thriving and building vitality in life, or many others. Sometimes, it's unknown what exactly we are seeking from the therapy process until we get started. I like to take a process of collaborative discovery and work together with you as a team.
