Hi, I'm Chike

Psychology can support positive change, acceptance, personal growth, and healing.

I care about the work that I do with clients and it is important to me to offer a service that has a good chance of making a positive difference. Since completing a Masters degree in Psychology in 2005, I have worked in variety of roles in the mental health space.

I am very practical in my approach and believe that therapy should be forward moving and grounded in clear intention. As a psychologist, my aim is to:

- Hear and understand you with compassion, curiosity, authenticity;
- Support your growth and self-understanding with sound clinical reasoning, objectivity and clear communication;
- Accept and respect you - with humility and professionalism;
- Create a safe space for you to speak your truth, feel what you feel, reflect, challenge me, challenge yourself, be yourself, and grow;
- Collaborate with and support you as you progress toward wellness, recovery, personal growth, self-mastery and self-acceptance.

My Approach

My approach is tailored to the specific needs of the client though a number of general principles often applies; we plan and work together collaboratively, always at your pace and on your terms; emphasis on “what works” according to science; focus on relevant patterns of thought and behaviour using a cognitive behavioural approach; planning for between sessions (experimentation with new skills and ideas); and ongoing review of outcomes - what is working and what can be improved?
