Hi, I'm Michael

I have a warm, empowering, and empathic style. I strive to cultivate an open environment where clients feel safe and comfortable to work collaboratively on their goals. I see my role as supporting people to live a full and meaningful life by helping them navigate through challenges and obstacles that may hinder their progress.

I offer psychotherapy grounded in scientifically supported frameworks and tailoring intervention plans to suit each client. With a Master of Clinical Psychology degree from Griffith University on the Gold Coast, I have had a variety of clinical experience spanning across different age groups and clinical presentations, including working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have a special interest in working with individuals with anxiety, mood disorders, autism, attention and hyperactivity problems, emotion dysregulation, social skills, attachment issues, stress, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorders, substance dependencies, and learning difficulties.

My Approach

I use a client-centred, collaborative, and individualised approach, meaning the client and I explore the clients’ individual needs, challenges, and goals to tailor an evidence-based intervention. I also incorporate a strength-based approach to identify the clients’ individual abilities and strengths.

I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Compassion-focused Therapy.
