Hi, I'm Ryan

I am passionate about creating a safe and authentic space for you to share your stories and experiences. Therapy is client-centred, with a focus on empowering you to experience improved wellbeing, quality of life and connectedness.

I am a calm, compassionate and empathic practitioner. I am also a parent (two teenage children), partner, son, surfer, and motorcyclist who works as school counsellor during business hours. I practice mindfulness meditation regularly, and believe that self-care is fundamental to wellbeing. Prior to being a counsellor/psychologist I was a high school music teacher, and enjoyed connecting with adolescents and their families in findings ways to make learning meaningful and life changing. I am also from a performing arts background, and am keen to draw on the experiences and the knowledge I have gained in these areas to support and empower my clients.

My Approach

I work with clients from all backgrounds and have extensive experience working with children, adolescents and their families. Primary treatment relates to mindfulness based approaches, including the exploration and practice of self-compassion. I also draw on a wide range of evidence-based treatment modalities (CBT, Solution-focussed Coping, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, ACT, motivational interviewing, client -centred approaches, and behavioural therapy amongst others).
