Hi, I'm Shelly

The phoenix is a powerful symbol of renewal, rising from its own ashes after destruction. Human life often mirrors this journey — we may face challenges that leave us feeling broken, stuck, or lost.
Yet, just as the phoenix rises again, people too possess an inherent capacity to rebuild, transform, and emerge stronger from their personal “ashes.”

As a dedicated psychologist, I am deeply passionate about supporting adolescents and adults in navigating life’s challenges, building resilience, and fostering personal growth. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming — moments of loss, change, or difficulty may leave us feeling stuck, uncertain, or disconnected. Much like the phoenix, which rises renewed from the flames, individuals have the capacity to overcome adversity, reconnect with their strengths, and embrace new beginnings. Even the most difficult experiences can become opportunities to cultivate resilience, gain insight, and foster meaningful personal growth. I am committed to helping clients embrace these opportunities for growth, strength, and renewal, guiding them through challenges toward positive change.

I work collaboratively with clients to address challenges, develop adaptive coping strategies, cultivate resilience and personal development.I have experience working with clients of all ages, from adolescence through older adulthood, across a variety of settings, including employment and disability services. I have supported individuals experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, low self-esteem, social skills difficulties, and experiences of domestic violence. I also have extensive experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

I strive to provide a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. My goal is to support each individual on their journey of renewal and transformation, empowering them to rise like the phoenix, unlock their full potential, embrace meaningful growth and positive change.

My Approach

I utilize evidence-based strategies and a personalized approach to support clients in achieving their goals. My work incorporates CBT, DBT, ACT, SFT, and mindfulness-based strategies, tailored to each client’s unique needs and circumstances. I collaborate with clients in a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental manner, creating a safe space where they can explore challenges, gain skills, and develop a deeper understanding of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
