Hi, I'm Alison

I am a warm, open and passionate psychologist. I am passionate about building a bond with my clients. I wish to help you dig deeper, to empower you to retake control of your life, and to allow you to recognise and address barriers standing in your way.

I began my career in the community sector working with both disadvantaged groups and people experiencing homelessness. Since then, I have worked in a variety of settings, including: non-profit, research, residential and private practice. I work with both adolescents and adults. I am NSW WorkCover accredited.

My Approach

I collaborate with my clients to design a therapy experience that meets their unique individual needs, utilising a range of different therapies. Through Schema Therapy, we may assess what schemas are relevant to you, how they relate to your childhood and upbringing, and how they now relate to the problems occurring in your life. We might work to challenge these schemas, through self-reflection, self-talk, and imagery exercises. We will then set homework tasks in an attempt to break free from damaging life patterns. Through DBT, we may adopt some coping skills. Through ACT and CBT, we may work to address damaging thought patterns and set value-driven goals. Ultimately, I wish to help you live a more fulfilling and less painful life.
