Hi, I'm Mariana

We all experience emotional pain differently. Even when two people share the same diagnosis or life circumstance, their stories, relationships and ways of making sense of the world are unique. I believe therapy should make space for that individuality.

I am a Registered Psychologist with experience supporting adults and adolescents through a range of emotional and life challenges. I work with people who are experiencing emotional distress, navigating difficult life circumstances, or feeling stuck in patterns they don't fully understand. Some are living with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem concerns or relationship difficulties. Others are adjusting to major life transitions such as migration, pregnancy, the postnatal period, changes in work, health or family life. Whatever brings someone to therapy, I believe that understanding their unique experience is just as important as understanding their symptoms.

My experience spans private practice, outpatient services and inpatient mental health settings. Alongside my clinical work, I have worked across community and support services in Australia and Brazil, experiences that continue to shape the way I understand people, culture and the many different ways emotional difficulties can be experienced.

I don't believe there is a single path towards healing or growth. My role is not to assume I already know your story, but to approach it with openness, curiosity and respect. Together, we can explore what has brought you to this point, what may be be keeping you stuck, and what feels meaningful for you moving forward.

My Approach

My approach is collaborative, flexible and tailored to each person's needs. I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), alongside a strong foundation in psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Some people come to therapy looking for practical strategies. Others are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. Most are looking for both. Together, we can create a space to explore your experiences with curiosity rather than judgement, while working towards changes that feel meaningful and sustainable for you.
