Hi, I'm Mariana

I support adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, migration and cultural adjustment challenges, and major life transitions. My approach combines practical strategies with opportunities for reflection and self-understanding, helping clients make sense of their experiences and work towards meaningful and sustainable change.

I am a Registered Psychologist with experience supporting adults and adolescents through a range of emotional and life challenges. I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, migration and cultural adjustment challenges, and major life transitions, including pregnancy, the postnatal period and the transition to parenthood.

I am particularly interested in working with clients who want to better understand themselves, their relationships and the patterns that may be contributing to current difficulties. Many of the people I support are navigating periods of change, uncertainty or emotional distress and are looking for both practical support and a deeper understanding of their experiences.

My experience spans private practice, outpatient services and inpatient mental health settings, where I have supported individuals facing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. Having lived and worked across different countries and professional settings, I recognise the complexities that can accompany change, identity, belonging and life transitions. My professional and volunteer experiences across mental health, community and support services have also shaped my understanding of the diverse ways people experience adversity, connection and growth.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental and inclusive space where clients feel heard and supported. Therapy is available in both English and Portuguese.

My Approach

I take a collaborative and flexible approach to therapy, adapting treatment to each person's goals, strengths and circumstances. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), alongside a strong foundation in psychodynamic psychotherapy, I combine practical strategies with opportunities for reflection and insight. Together, we can explore patterns that may be contributing to current difficulties, develop greater self-awareness and work towards meaningful and sustainable change at a pace that feels right for you.
