Hi, I'm Mark

I have a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (BBSc) Honours (Hons) and a Ph.D. in biochemistry focussing on neurodegeneration in motor neurone disease (MND). I am registered as general psychologist and have been trained in various therapeutic techniques including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) techniques.

I have a focus on developing supportive, empathic and collegial therapeutic relationships using a rational, existentialist approach. My focus is on understanding the person's life story and in facilitating the development of meaning.

My Approach

My therapeutic training includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) techniques as well as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and trauma-focussed interventions. I have extensive experience providing therapeutic counselling in the community health and forensic service systems. My specialisation in regards to therapy is depression and anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues as well as interventions that aid in recovery from trauma.
