Hi, I'm Qui

Hello, I'm Qui. I'm a clinical psychologist who is passionate about helping clients reduce suffering by moving towards adaptive skills and strategies, which may necessarily require diligence, patience, and sacrifice.

I believe that well-being is largely determined by the extent to which limited resources, such as time and health, are appropriately dedicated to meaningful values in all of our lives. Thus, I believe it is important to identify when non-meaningful behaviours impact our well-being negatively, in order to take appropriate action. This process can require vulnerability, patience, and sacrifice – traits which I believe we can all harness with assistance and guidance. I can assist in this process via Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, whilst being informed and complemented by Schema Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Accelerated Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy. I specialise in diaphragmatic breathing training, mindfulness for stress relief and increased focus, exposure-based therapies for anxiety disorders (including panic attacks, phobias, PTSD and OCD), social support seeking based on relationship status, and stress reduction and increased assertiveness through effective communication. In addition, I can treat behavioural addictions such as gambling and pornography use.

My Approach

A large part of my aim is to help you understand where you are travelling on your own unique roadmap of life because the more informed you are about where you're heading, the more you can prepare for life’s problems and crises. I can’t always provide clear answers for what you should do, but I will allow you to critically consider your options, with patience, and without judgement. I understand that we come from all walks of life, thus I aim to assist you at your pace, but I will encourage you to move towards what you fear, especially if your well-being would benefit from doing so.
