Hi, I'm Rachel

I am a Registered Psychologist and I work with families, couples as well as individually with adults, teens and children. Ive written two internationally published books (a parenting book and a children’s picture book about depression). I have experience across the lifespan and with a wide range of clients and presentations/needs.

I have experience in education settings, parenting support programs, play therapy, trauma/PTSD, drug and alcohol, family and domestic violence, employee assistance programs and general counselling (depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, communication etc). I have experience supporting individuals (adults and children), and also groups (training, workshops, group and parenting support). My area of specialty is child development and parenting support, I am often engaged by the media for expert comments for news articles, interviews (print and television) and write articles for many parenting and wellness websites.

My Approach

I firmly believe that you are your own expert and my role is helping you uncover your strengths/skills by finding out more about you as a person, your life experience, the challenges you’re facing and how we can figure out a way forward together. I use evidence based therapies, however as you are a unique person with unique needs I often use an eclectic approach and tailor the support to you as an individual. Together we identify thought patterns and habits that are unhelpful or causing distress and work out new ways of responding that are more helpful or aligned with what you need or want from life.
