Hi, I'm Shane

I am a General Psychologist holding a Master of Professional Psychology, dedicated to providing thoughtful, evidence-based psychological care. Whether you are navigating a difficult life transition or carrying long-standing challenges, I offer a collaborative, compassionate space online Australia-wide, giving you time to do deep, meaningful therapeutic work.

I believe therapy should offer a steady model of care. A safe, structured environment where you feel genuinely heard and understood. As a General Psychologist, I support individuals facing a wide spectrum of emotional, psychological, and relational challenges, offering sustained support rather than quick fixes.

My clinical expertise spans addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, weight issues and grief and loss. I work collaboritvely with individuals navigating complex trauma, life transitions, and neurodivergence, ensuring care is inclusive, affirming, and tailored to your unique identity and circumstances. I am committed to delivering culturally safe, respectful, and reflective care grounded in active listening and mutual respect.

Grounded in warmth and clinical rigor, my practice draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.

I view therapy as a collaborative partnership where we work at a pace guided by what is most useful for you. Whether you require a short, focused period of therapeutic work or longer-term support, my aim is to equip you with insight, resilience, and practical tools to foster genuine well-being and personal growth.

My Approach

My approach is collaborative, flexible and grounded in evidence-based practice. I recognise that every person’s journey is unique, which is why I integrate multiple therapeutic modalities to meet you where you are as your needs evolve. By combining self-reflection, trauma-informed principles, and practical coping strategies, I aim to help you make sense of your experiences in a warm, non-judgmental environment. Together, we work at a comfortable pace to dismantle unhelpful patterns, build meaningful coping mechanisms, and foster long-term psychological resilience and self-compassion.

Cultural Competency

I have completed a Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Competence Training.

Completing this training reflects my ongoing commitment to culturally safe, respectful care. It has deepened my understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and enduring strengths, alongside the systemic factors impacting community well-being.

The program reinforced self-reflection, addressing unconscious bias, and prioritising First Nations voices. To me, cultural competency is an active practice of learning and unlearning. I am dedicated to embedding these principles in my daily work, fostering relationships built on trust and respect, and advocating for equitable outcomes and reconciliation.
