I have worked in the human services industry for the majority of my career in diverse roles in disability, mental health, domestic violence, aged care and Out of Home Care. I have always been passionate about supporting people to become their best, most resilient and empowered self, which lead me to study a Bachelor Of Psychology Honors degree that I completed in 2012. I am a registered provider for Victims Services and accredited with SIRA to provide services under Work Cover.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature, meditation, being with family and friends and engaging in personal and professional development.
I have worked with individuals across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including private practice, disabilities, community mental health services and homelessness, domestic violence, aged care, and Out of Home Care. I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults presenting with attachment issues, family distress and parenting issues, anxiety and depression, suicidal ideation and self-harm, emotion regulation difficulties, dissociation, foster and kinship care issues, skills deficits, acquired brain injury, domestic violence, abuse, neglect, sexual assault/rape and witnessing horrendous acts.
A particular interest of mine is supporting people who have experienced difficulties associated with complex trauma subsequent to childhood trauma and adversity.
My goal is to provide psychoeducation and information that will increase your self-awareness, self-compassion and insight, learn new skills and strategies that will support an increase in your resilience, coping and overall well-being.
I am passionate about making therapy an accepting, enjoyable and safe experience and employ a holistic and flexible approach that draws from various treatment modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitizing and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems (structural dissociation and ego state interventions), Motivational Interviewing, Clinical Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness, Positive Behavior Support, Circle of Security, ARC and elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy so as to reach your goals and achieve positive outcomes.
