Hi, I'm Shayla

"If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive"- Brene Brown

Many have asked me, "Why psychology?" Well, it all began in high school when I found myself completely captivated by the intricate workings of the human brain, paired with an innate desire to support others. While I considered various pathways, the allure of psychology only grew stronger with time.

After 2.5 years as a provisional psychologist, navigating through challenges and triumphs, I finally achieved full registration in 2021. Each hurdle only fuelled my passion further, reinforcing my commitment to the profound impact of mental health support.

For me, the essence of psychology transcends words—it's an ever-evolving journey of self-discovery and transformation. Through the profound experiences of self-compassion, authenticity, empathy, and curiosity, lives are not just changed, but truly transformed.

Bit more personal; I adore animals, Disney, spontaneity, sunny autumn days, laughter, scary movies, baking and exploring.

My Approach

From my experience and training i bring a trauma informed approach to my sessions. My sessions are grounded in empathy, understanding, and authenticity with a commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for healing. In my approach, I blend compassion and humour to foster genuine connections and create a safe, welcoming space for exploration and growth.
