Hi, I'm Shirley

I am a warm and attuned therapist who is passionate about increasing self-awareness, choice and agency and help to make sense of painful and challenging experiences in life.

I have worked in both private, hospital and community health settings over the past decade. My special interests are attachment, emotional experience, relational trauma and its influence on adult functioning and coping. I bring creativity to considering life’s problems and identifying paths of change and reduced suffering. I am able to help with mood disorders, anxiety, stress and burnout, trauma both historical and acute, personality issues and problems with emotion regulation.

My Approach

I derive my understanding of client presenting problems from a range of approaches including schema, cognitive and dialectical therapies as well as mindfulness based therapies. I am passionate about bringing awareness to the impact of early attachments, relationship to emotions and flexibility and choice in coping.
