Hi, I'm Vanessa

Welcome, thank you for taking the time to review my profile. I am a general psychologist with over 15 years of clinical and leadership experience. I am really passionate about helping and empowering people to overcome a wide range of life's challenges, to find out what motivates them to grow, and to support them in that experience. I have worked across a range of different sectors including private practice, disability services, non-profit, immigration and in the delivery of employee assistance programs.
I'm a mum to a beautiful two year old and of South American descent having arrived in Australia in my early teens.
I am bilingual and speak both English and Spanish fluently.

My Approach

My approach is compassionate, eclectic, evidenced based and tailored. My aim is to assist clients in developing a better understanding of themselves, to develop helpful and wide ranging ways to respond to life's challenges and to empower and motivate them to grow.

I use evidence-based therapies, integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy into my work with adults & older adolescents.

My key areas of interest & expertise include: depression & mood disorders; anxiety & panic disorders; life goals & directions; relationship & career difficulties; trauma & PTSD; grief & loss and parenting issues.

I have a special interest in helping clients overcome the stresses of modern life, especially during times of transition & adjustment to new life circumstances, such as COVID 19.

I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your journey to better health.
