Hi, I'm Zahra

As a Registered Psychologist, I am passionate about helping my clients understand and learn to regulate distressing emotions, cultivate self-compassion and build a meaningful and fulfilling life. I draw upon my clinical experience and ongoing professional development to provide evidence-based treatments facilitating change in people and empowering them to overcome their challenges.

I am motivated by my values of compassion, empathy and helping others. I feel privileged to be in a position that allows me to facilitate change and be a part of my clients’ recovery journey.

Seeking support can be a daunting experience at first and I think it’s wonderful that you’ve chosen to reach out for help. My aim is to create a safe and collaborative environment for you to be able to explore and develop yourself.

I have worked in the mental health sector for close to a decade. My career experiences range from mental health community work, employment rehabilitation, early psychosis programs, working with veterans and their families and private practice.

My Approach

I have been trained in a variety of modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, Compassion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Schema Therapy. I have worked with adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties and I have a particular interest in working with stress and anxiety disorders, trauma related disorders and difficulties with regulating distressing emotions. But mostly, I believe in a strength based approach that empowers my clients to feel like an active participant in their own treatment.
