Alternative funding options

Bulk Billing

If you’re eligible and your psychologist offers it, bulk billing means no out-of-pocket cost with a valid Mental Health Care Plan.

Concession

If you are a pensioner, hold a concession card, or are not eligible for bulk billing, you may qualify for a reduced session fee.

Self-Funded

If you pay for your sessions without Medicare rebates or external funding, you’ll cover the full private fee charged by your psychologist.

Work Cover

If your mental health concern is due to a workplace injury and your insurer has approved your claim, Work Cover may pay for your sessions.

Private Health

If you have private health insurance with extras cover for psychology, you may be able to claim a rebate towards your therapy session fees.

NDIS

If you have an NDIS plan with funding for psychology, session fees may be covered. Check if your plan includes support for therapy.
