What will a self-development focused session look like with a psychologist?
A psychologist can help you tap into what's holding you back, uncover unhelpful habits keeping you stuck, offer accountability and guidance, and help you overcome self-limiting beliefs and self doubt. Looking at your self-development allows you to explore your values, resources, and strengths, and develop goals or areas of growth that you want to address.
Self compassion
When you're not in the habit of prioritising your needs, it's important to explore where this comes from and what may be stopping you from looking after yourself. Learn to self-reflect and shift your mindset to a more compassionate one, including practicing forgiveness and identifying and letting go of self-criticisms.
Self regulation
Learn to identify different emotions and triggers and practice strategies to cope with them. Address and challenge negative thoughts and beliefs, practice self-acceptance, or learn different distress tolerance techniques to help manage intense emotions.
Relationship skills
